Una leggenda vuole che un antenato della famiglia Xu abbia consegnato ai giapponesi una preziosa testa di Buddha. Oggi la reliquia viene restituita ma è un falso! Tra l'ultimo membro degli Xu e il discendente della famiglia rivale Yao inizia quindi una corsa, a suon di enigmi, per ritrovarla!
